Sideshow
Josh “Sideshow” Wilkinson, currently known for his analyst & casting role in the Overwatch League, began his esports journey in 2010 competing in Team Fortress 2. In 2014, he was invited to give live commentary on matches, a role that led to Wilkinson eventually producing broadcasts, publishing written coverage, and commentating matches for the larger European esports scene.
With the debut of Overwatch in 2016, Sideshow found a new audience passionate about class-based FPS, and brought his extensive skills along to cover the budding scene. That scene grew into the official, globe-spanning Overwatch League in 2018. Wilkinson was brought on to the analyst desk where he has spent the last two seasons producing & scripting segments, discussing game strategy, and interacting with the live audiences, including a sold-out 12,000 person crowd in the Barclays Center, New York for the Overwatch League’s finals. He earned the UK Caster of the Year award in 2019.
In Overwatch League Season 3, he became a casting pair with Brennon Hook. Wilkinson, a former medical student, also co-hosts the gaming podcasts Plat Chat, Four Heads, and Clutch or Kick where he discusses Overwatch, general esports, and wider topics. In 2020, the same year he joined CSA - he moved back to a commentary role with the the Overwatch League.
