For Brennon Hook, a career in esports commentary began with a hobby. Hook grew up playing games, and when the team-based first-person shooter Team Fortress 2 started gaining steam, he teamed up with some friends to try out the competition.

Seeking to bring insight and excitement to his own games, Hook began commentating over recordings of the matches. Commentary was a natural fit for Hook’s energy and humor. The TF2 scene responded by hiring Hook for every subsequent TF2 Major, slotting him into a place of honor as commentator of the Grand Finals matches each time.

When the Overwatch League put out a call for talent before their debut in 2018, Hook took the opportunity to parlay his team-based FPS expertise into a role as an analyst and commentator. Since moving to Overwatch, Hook has delighted audiences at the Overwatch League and Overwatch World Cup with a combination of fun skits and “meshed them into quality breakdowns of the teams whilst not losing the vision of raising up players first and foremost.”
